If you have been considering fixing your chipped teeth or the gap between your
teeth in Downtown Toronto, this service is for you. Maybe your smile has chips or gaps that prevent it from looking exactly how you’d like it to. Or you have discoloration that conventional whitening methods can’t treat. If this is the case, veneers might be the right treatment for you. At Richmond West Dental, we are happy to provide a wide range of cosmetic dentistry services, including veneers, to patients in Toronto seeking a more attractive smile.

What are veneers?

Dental veneers are thin shells that are custom-made out of tooth-colored materials. They are attached to the front of the teeth to change their appearance.

What can veneers treat?

Veneers can be placed to improve the appearance of teeth that are:

  • Chipped
  • Cracked
  • Worn
  • Uneven
  • Discolored
  • Gapped
  • Misaligned
  • Misshapen

Benefits of veneers

Veneers offer several advantages over other options in cosmetic dentistry. They are:

  • Effective and versatile: they can be used to address a variety of issues and produce natural-looking results
  • Quick and simple: the procedure to place veneers takes just two appointments at Richmond West Dental and is minimally invasive
  • Durable: veneers can last up to 30 years with good maintenance!
  • Stain-resistant: the material used to create veneers is resistant to stains, so you can eat and drink freely without worrying that you’ll discolor your treatment

How are veneers placed?

During your first visit to our office in Toronto, your dentist will prepare the teeth receiving crowns by shaving them down a small portion. This is necessary to create enough room for the veneers to fit comfortably on the teeth. Impressions will then be taken of the prepared teeth and sent to a dental laboratory; the veneers will be created off-site by the dental laboratory and will be ready in a few weeks. Once they are ready, you will return to our office to have the veneers bonded to the teeth using special cement. A special light will be applied to the teeth to help harden the cement and to create a more secure bond. Your dentist may make adjustments to the veneers as needed once they have been put in place to ensure that they fit with the bite of your teeth.
